Oregon Pinot noir

Wednesday we treated a guest to a vineyard tour including working in the vineyard. We are beginning to pre-release our 2006 vintage with excellent response. The 2006s are our best wines to date in what is proving to be one of the best, if not the best, vintage for Oregon Pinot noir. We will release the 2006s on Labor Day.

Thanks Paul. Glad you enjoyed the 2004. We took over in 2003 and made revitalizing the vineyard a priority. In addition, we changed winemakers and took more control over the process. The wines are just getting better and better.

We have also made many improvements in the Inn, so, yes, you do need to come out and visit again. We have a special on now. Come see us.

    Enjoy the holidays!

I had a bottle of Youngberg Hill 2004 Jordan Block Pinot Noir and loved it. I stayed at Youngberg Hill Vineyards & Inn in 1998 and really thought the Inn was wonderful but the wines were not. After enjoying the 2004 I know I need to come back for a visit to learn about what you have been doing well. Keep up the good work.

On Labor Day Septmeber 1st, Youngberg Hill released three new vintage wines; the 2007 Pinot gris, and the 2006 Natasha Block and Jordan Block Pinot noirs. They are all great representations of what makes Oregon great wine country. Early reviews have suggested that the 2006 Pinot noirs are the best vintage Youngberg Hill Vineyards has produced and may be two of the best Pinot noirs in what is shaping up to be Oregon Pinot noir’s best vintage ever.
