Neighbors

November 30th, 2009 by Nicolette Bailey

I had a opportunity to stop at the Maysara Winery http://www.maysara.com yesterday and enjoyed seeing everyone.  The wines were beautiful and the food Flora & Moe created themselves may have been Persian in origin but had a Greek flair that they did so well.  It was fun to see their girls pouring the wines and telling stories.  It warmed my heart to think of Natasha, Jordan, and Aspen doing that someday!  They are our neighbors and we are truly blessed to have them as friends.

Winter is setting in.

There is something incredibly beautiful to vineyard owners after the leaves fall from the vines.  The view of the bare branches reaching for the sky like fingers of a hand is a tribute to all the work that was done throughout the year.

Thanksgiving!

November 27th, 2009 by Nicolette Bailey

We were playing all morning in the kitchen and the girls begged long enough for Jess to make his world famous Thanksgiving Rolls!  If it was up to me that is all we needed for dinner.   Trays and Trays of these rolls!

We would like to thank Renae Heineck from Custom Cakes www.customcakesnw.com for bringing one of her chocolate desserts by today.  Renea has done cakes at events of ours in the past and they are always leaving you wanting more.  I will jog an extra mile tomorrow for the privilege.

Getting ready for the big Thanksgiving Weekend.

Great moments!

This was a picture taken by a photographer, JOS, at one of our weddings this last summer. It is only one of several spectacular shots he took. We are fortunate to have many great photographers, both professional and amateur, that take great pictures of our site and of the views from our home and Inn. Hope you enjoy them.

Cafe Uncorked

November 20th, 2009 by Nicolette Bailey

We are very excited about the opening of Cafe Uncorked just west of McMinnville on Hwy 18. It is owned by Virginia Murphy, who previously owned Fresh Palate Cafe across the street. Not only is a bigger better space, there is also a wine bar and tasting room to fill the void left by the closing of Oregon Tasting Room. This tasting room will allow many of us wineries in the McMinnville AVA to have our wines available for tasting. Youngberg Hill will be tasting there Thanksgiving weekend as well as at our tasting room up at the vineyard on Youngberg Hill. We are releasing the 2007 vintage Jordan and Natasha Pinot noirs.

Come celebrate with us at both locations.

Cheers!

I had gone to a networking meeting for Wine Country Wedding Professionals the other day and was so impressed by a few things.  First the food from Craig at Haagenson’s Catering www.ribslayer.com was very good.  No one does barbeque better then Craig!  For an amazing chocolate dessert Jan from Majestic Chocolates www.majesticchocolates.com did truffles that were worth checking out.   I ate 3 of them and couldn’t stop trying the different flavors she offers.  But the best presentation I have ever seen from a videographer was from Ryan at Focal Point Digital Media at www.focalpointvideo.biz Wow, if your ever doing an event and what to capture it Ryan is the guy for the job.  He is the best I have seen.  Weddings, renewal, corporate events… if you’re having an event Ryan will give you memoires that will last a lifetime.  He will be videoing at least two events at Youngberg Hill in 2010 and I can’t wait to show you his work.

A thank you to the Bayou Golf Course www.bayougolfcourse.com for hosting the evening. This golf course is open to the public and just 7 minutes away from Youngberg Hill.
