Oregon Wine Country

April 4th, 2010 by Nicolette Bailey

Happy Easter from Youngberg Hill Vineyards & Inn in the heart of Oregon Wine Country. We are having a pleasant day today. Warmer, no sun, but no rain. We can see the Cascades and Mt. Hood. There is still snow on the Coast Range. Preparing for Easter Dinner after a great night of college basketball. National Championship tomorrow night. I have always been a Duke fan, but have to admit that the Butler Bulldogs are tagging at my heart and soul.

Oregon Wine Country

Here atop Youngberg Hill Vineyards & Inn in the heart of Oregon Wine Country we have  two new additions on your drive up.  These 2 year old thoroughbred  horses are owned by our neighbors Kathy and Nick.  They are part of a larger horse family that Kathy and Nick have been loving for years.  Feel free to say hi to AJ and Alphy, AJ is the taller one, as you turn up our driveway for your wonderful visit.

Oregon Pinot noir in Ashland

April 1st, 2010 by Nicolette Bailey

We have been stalking the streets of Ashland, OR, wine in hand, to get our new release 2007 estate grown Oregon Pinot noirs into peoples mouths. Although the 2007s have gotten some unflattering press, our ’07s are being very well received and typically are bigger than what many expect the ’07s to be.

We are bottling our 2009 Pinot gris and Pinot blanc next week and are excited about getting them into the market. The ’09s are rich in fruit components and a little dryer than our previous vintage. They are mighty tasty.
