Horseback Riding in Wine Country

May 26th, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

Horseback Riding in Wine Country is beautiful when done at Equestrian Wine Tours with Jake Price.  For years his horse, Chewy, took many Youngberg Hill guests on rides through vineyards in Dayton and Dundee.  Now Chewy is summering at Youngberg Hill along with a few friends.  Come say ‘Hi’ to him and enjoy a glass of wine.

Oregon Wine Country Weddings

May 25th, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

When it comes to romantic wine country weddings Youngberg Hill Vineyards & Inn is a perfect place.  We have been honored to do many weddings and offer a exclusive and personal experience.  One of my favorite photos is of an old fashion swing we set in an old oak tree on the highest part of the vineyard.  This one spot is my personal favorite of the entire estate.  The view is almost as beautiful as the bride Terra.  Ben Powers from Powers Photography  has done many amazing photos over the years and he just keeps getting better and better.

Evergreen Wings & Waves Waterpark Lodging

May 23rd, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

We are so excited about Evergreen Aviation Museum’s new Wings & Waves Waterpark Grand Opening on June 6, 2011.  The water park is an educational and will include 10 water slides, a wave pool and a children’s museum dedicated to teaching students about the power of water. Consisting of classic Evergreen Museum building design, the space features nearly 70,000 square feet of educational fun, highlighted by a massive Evergreen International Aviation B747-100 aircraft that rests on the top of the building.  Lodging at Youngberg Hill is just a quick 10 minutes away.  Stay overnight  at a romantic Inn wile you play like children at the water park. The quiet setting of Youngberg Hill is perfect to relax, enjoy a beautiful glass of Pinot, and savor the views.

Unique Angles Photography came a few weeks ago to finish taking Inn room photos at Youngberg Hill.  Marcus Berg was here last year to do a few rooms and we are trilled to have him back to finish up.  Look at what he creates, it’s truly amazing!  I haven’t found anyone that can light a room as well as he does.  Thank you Marcus.  Check out his site at http://www.uniqueanglesphoto.com

Youngberg Hill Supports Taste of the Nation

May 13th, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

Youngberg Hill supports Taste of the Nation!  It was great to see everyone at this wonderful event sampling amazing wines and food.

With your help, our net result was over $65,000 for Share Our Strength and our local beneficiaries (Oregon Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul Food Recovery Program, Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, and Klamath/Lake County Food Bank).  In 2012, we’ll celebrate our 25th anniversary – hope to see you there!

Corks & Caftans 2008 Jordan Review

May 8th, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

Corks & Caftans 2008 Jordan Review is a testament to the quality of standards that exist year after year on fruit coming from Youngberg Hill’s Jordan Block estate vineyard.

“Musty nose, hints of sweet watermelon, spruce and moss. Deep plum in color—divergently dark for an Oregon Pinot Noir, but not dense, retaining glimmers of transparency. Steady black fruit drives and traverses the nose and palate, underscored by dense earth and herbals.

Not a wine quick to award dividends. It flaunts a Bordeaux-like appetite for air and patience—a bit of a dangler at first, but 2 hours provides focus. Swells of black cherry, fennel, cola and cream soda become unmissable where vague threads of distinction appeared at first.”
