Oregon Wine Country Restaurants in McMinnville and Beyond

Having come here from Chicago, we were concerned that we might miss all the great culinary experiences, but with the restaurants in Oregon Wine Country that has not been an issue. The selection of restaurants in McMinnville and other local communities, as well as in Portland, is phenomenal. In McMinnville, begin with Bistro Maison, a wonderful experience of French cooking with the flair of the Northwest. Our favorite dishes are the fondue, french fries (true pom frites), and the duck confit.

Going just outside McMinnville, there is The Joel Palmer House with a one-of-a kind experience for mushroom lovers. Our favorites are the mushroom tarte, lamb, and anything with white truffle infused olive oil. Back in McMinnville, we have Nick’s Italian Cafe, a long time favorite in the valley that has been updated and refreshed both in ambiance and menu. Our favorites are the crab meat lasagne and the minestrone soup. Also on 3rd Street is La Rambla, a wonderful Spanish Tapas experience and a great selection of Spanish wines for a break from Pinot Noir. Our favorites are the baked goat cheese, buffalo burgers, and Spanish coffee. And for an Asian flair, there is Kame a great Japanese restaurant and sushi bar. Try the Bob rolls.

Beyond McMinnville, in Dundee, are the Dundee Bistro, Tina’s, and Red Hills Provencial. And a little farther north in Newberg is The Painted Lady.

Trust us, you will not lose weight while enjoying all the great Pinot Noirs in the Valley with these wonderful culinary experiences to enjoy. Bon appetite.
