WINNER: OREGON BRIDE AWARDS “BEST ALL INCLUSIVE VENUE!”

July 13th, 2013 by Nicolette Bailey

Oregon vineyard weddingYoungberg Hill Vineyards, known for its divine wines and charming inn, is also a beautiful and award-winning location for your Oregon vineyard wedding!  We are truly grateful for the opportunity to host weddings and are glad to have had such supportive wedding guests and vendors over the years.  This year we owe our sincere thanks to all of them for voting for us in the 2013 Oregon Bride Awards.  We had the honor of winning the award for “Best All Inclusive Venue” this year, so thank you!
Wayne and I enjoyed our own vineyard wedding over 15 years ago, and the memories of that day still stir my soul.  When we think of the couples who have trusted us to take care of them for one of the biggest days of their lives, we know exactly how they feel and what they need because we’ve been there!  We pride ourselves on strong communications from the moment someone reaches out to us for information.  We help guide couples and feel the responsibility of preparing for that big chapter in their lives.  I personally haven’t missed a Youngberg Hill Vineyward wedding and love serving our wines during the reception and getting to know all of the guests.  The total joy during the ceremony and reception is infectious.

We do an average of 25 weddings in our stunning vineyards each year.  Having won this award knowing that the other nominated wedding locations in our category do an average of 75-150 weddings a year in comparison means that all of our guests took the time to vote for us, which assures us that our aspirations for making weddings at Youngberg Hill a special experience for each individual in attendance are being accomplished.  To win this award, which was voted on by both the public and by vendors, means so much more to us than you can imagine.  Thank you so much for the honor of hosting your vineyard wedding, and for the joy that you have given us in showing that what we do at Youngberg Hill is of unrivaled excellence.

The Wonder of Weddings!

June 8th, 2013 by Nicolette Bailey

02 powers grapesWe prepare for wedding season all year long at Youngberg Hill.  The site preparation, the upgrades, the vegetation – the small things that make the Hill such a special place to get married.  From the first time a future bride and groom see the vineyard and the view, there is an energy and enthusiasm that carries through the entire planning of their big day.  Some couples we meet with want everything simple and elegant, while others are working off a list that they have been compiling for years.  They are both equally charming and delightful.  After choosing a venue the next step is choosing the vendors that make the day so complete – caterers, photographers, cake artists, florists – we enjoy helping clients choose from the vast array of talent available in the Northwest.

The first vendor that is typically selected after the venue is the caterer.  Youngberg Hill has a preferred caterer and offers options for any caterer you choose.  Capturing the wedding day through poignant photography is easy to do with an experienced photographer (and a great setting!), and many offer a variety of packages and options.  The spectacular setting of the Hill seems to capture each wedding as serene and blissful, and every sunset backdrop sets a tone of tranquility and ever-afters.

Then there are music choices to make, florists to hire, cakes to taste.  (To all the grooms, go to the cake tasting!)  Take good notes,  keep a sense of humor, and embrace the random craziness.  And if all else fails, hire a wedding coordinator!

Wedding Fun!

July 7th, 2012 by Nicolette Bailey

Oregon Bride Magazine  recently voted Youngberg Hill as the Best All-Inclusive Venue and Best Oregon Destination Wedding Site Statewide for 2012.  We have been honored and humbled to win such recognition in an industry where family-owned locations don’t always garner as much attention as the large corporate venues.  We have been doing weddings at Youngberg Hill for the past eight years and enjoy being part of a couple’s “new beginnings”.  While the images of the bride and the vineyard countryside will take your breath away, it’s our goal to otherwise have everyone breathing easier during a wedding at Youngberg Hill.

There are many components to a successful wedding, and finding the right location is key.  Our spectacular 360 view, the vineyard backdrop and complete outdoor venue all come together to make Youngberg Hill a stunning setting for the perfect wedding.

Like a lot of weddings, those on the Hill have their share of unexpected moments – from the flower girls and ring bearers that make everyone laugh; to the mother-of-the-bride who was asked to hold a glass of wine for a unity ceremony but drank it instead; to an NBA cheerleader’s breakout dance performance!  Other moments, though expected, still draw the emotions to the surface – such as the look of happiness in the faces the newly married couple.  Very few things can top that!

To all of you who voted for us, thank you so much.  It means a lot to us to know that we are a part of so many brides’ happy memories of their special day.  Here’s to love!

Dinner in Oregon’s Wine Country

October 13th, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

When you’re in Oregon’s wine country you know you’re going to taste some amazing wines but you’re also going to taste some amazing food.  Willamette Valley is a small Mecca of great restaurants and food.  The fresh organic and diverse produce coupled with grass fed livestock and passionate chefs is a match made in heaven.  Some of our guest favorites are:

Bistro Maison  for their NW French inspired cuisine.  Debora and Jean-Jacques have been tantalizing our guest with a French Truffle Fondue and profiteroles that make even the non-desert lovers take notice.  And if I talk about the appetizers and deserts you can imagine how lovely the entrees are. Next is the Joel Palmer House.  Now Jack Czarnecki is legendary for his masters’ degree in mushrooms but his son, Chris, has taken over the helm and taken it to new heights.  I always tell guests to try to forgo their homemade breads so they have room for all the food they don’t want to leave on the plate. A local favorite is  Nick’s Italian Café  which has been a staple in McMinnville for over 35 years.  The culinary Team of Carmen and Eric have transformed this historic dining to modern and new heights.   The addition of a wood burning oven and a back of house lounge makes for an either formal dining or casual experience.  If your into sharing food then LaRambla  is the place for you.  The food is a blend of Spanish tapas influence and fresh local ingredients.   The atmospher is wonderful and the bar conversations are always fun. You can’t talk fine dining food without mentioning the Painted Lady.  Allen and Jessica have taken their San Francisco style into a Victorian home and reinterpret classic dishes with a twist of color and vibrancy.  The photos on the website are just your first taste of this wonderful dining experience.  And last but not least, Thistle  may be the new kid on the block but they are making their mark with a no nonsense approach to farm to fork local food.

If you have tried any of these let us know what your experience was.  If you have been to more than one, which one is your top pick?

A Great Guest Wedding Review

July 25th, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

5 of 5 starsReviewed July 20, 2011NEW

We started our search for wedding venues at Younberg Hill Vineyards and Inn. We could have stopped looking then because nothing could compare after seeing what they have to offer. The setting is incredible and the owner, Nicolette, is a great source of planning information. The wedding day and our stay there was magical. The staff is so attentive and efficient, it was the most stress free wedding ever.

Room Tip: Martini Suite has it all: view, deck, fireplace, jetted tub, sunrise. Jackson Suite comparable. Other rooms equally beautiful.

Oregon Bride Magazine Awards

July 11th, 2011 by Nicolette Bailey

Youngberg Hill Wins 2011 Oregon Bride Magazine Awards for ‘Best Sunset Wedding Spot’ AND ‘Best All-Inclusive Wedding Venue’.  We were also a finalist for ‘Best Venue For Large Weddings’ and ‘Best Oregon Destination Venue’.  These awards have so touched us as it is voted by the public and industry professionals.  If I could reach through the computer and hug you for voting for us I would!  It is a David & Goliath story as Youngberg Hill doesn’t do as many weddings compared to others in these categories, so it is all that more special.   It has truly been an honor to host weddings throughout the years.  We know everyone personally and take great pride in greeting every guest as family and friends.  Oregon Bride Magazine is the leading bridal publication in the area, with a readership of 95,000 per issue.  A full listing of the 2011 Best of Bride winners is also available online by clicking here.

This has been an outstanding year as we received a Gold Medal for our 2008 Pinot Noir from Oregon Wine Award, an Award of Excellence from TripAdvisor, and now the Oregon Bride Awards.  Our whole team is so proud to receive these awards.  Thank you SO much for all your support!
